IN PERSON AND VIA WEB
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: become more aware to be more inclusive

Centro Svizzero Via Palestro, 2 - 20121 MILANO

In recent years, the focus has been on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. The policies of inclusion and the increased attention to behavior, in the company as in personal life, are creating a new way of conceiving the reality and the different social contexts in which we are inserted. However, it is sometimes difficult to be aware of certain attitudes that, involuntarily, can hinder inclusion, with often significant repercussions in the personal, social and corporate spheres.

What hinders, on an unconscious level, our capacity for inclusion? And how to be more inclusive in private life and in the company?

During this meeting, participants will be able to address the theme of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion thanks to the help of experts from the world of neuropsychology, philosophy and the business world. We will try to investigate the causes that slow down or hinder inclusiveness, as well as the policies that can be implemented at the organizational level to foster diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Michela Balconi, expert in cognitive neuroscience, will focus on the neuropsychological aspects that lie behind the perception of reality, explaining how bias affects it. Perception does not always correspond to reality and this can lead us to take a different approach to diversity, with a significant impact on our ability to be inclusive
  • Maura Gancitano, philosopher and writer, will highlight the link between society, diversity and inclusion focusing on behaviors that lead to little attention to inclusion. He will help participants in a reflection on diversity in different social contexts and in digital public spaces, with particular attention to communication and language to develop a greater awareness of our behaviors and a greater capacity for inclusion.
  • Angela Paparone, HR Director Italy of Microsoft, through her experience, will reflect on DE&I in the corporate environment, explaining how it is possible to introduce and carry forward in the long term a vision that promotes inclusiveness. She will hight the role of culture as an element that can make a difference in creating an inclusive environment and explain how, only by nurturing a mindset based on inclusiveness over time, it is possible to create a fair and diversity-friendly climate in the company.
