Quit: when is it right to "walk away"?

Often, great emphasis is placed on leaders who haven't given up, who have persevered until they achieved their goal. Less often discussed are those who, in persevering, have gotten themselves into trouble, or those who, by quitting, have later found better opportunities. As in Poker, sometimes, folding a wrong hand is the key to future success.
But why is it often difficult to give up on our own ideas, even when you know they won't lead to positive outcomes? What are the strategies for giving up at the right moment, thus saving time, energy, and money?
In this meeting, organized in collaboration with Egea Editore, Annie Duke, the most successful female Poker player in history and author of Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away, explores why quitting is an integral part of success, and the strategies for choosing better when to persevere and when to let go.
In particular, the discussion will focus on:

  • The paradox of quitting: if you stop in time, you feel like you've quit too soon
  • What forces prevent us from walking away at the right moment and how to overcome them
  • How to think differently to make better decisions and quit at the right moment.
