Humanism 4.0: Towards a New Relationship between Humans and Technology

Sede da definire BOLOGNA

The New Technologies have permeated every aspect of daily life, shaping communication, work, entertainment, education, and even interpersonal relationships. Although this progress has brought numerous benefits, the omnipresence of technology also raises serious concerns. Particularly, in the context of the evolution of Artificial Intelligence, it becomes crucial to explore the complex interactions between technology and ethics, to outline a future that does not forget the human factor.

How is the human-technology relationship changing? How to address this challenge proactively, maximizing the benefits of digital culture while mitigating its potential negative impacts?

During this gathering, participants will have the opportunity to delve into the ethical dilemmas arising from the widespread adoption of new technologies. Through the interventions, we will promote critical and constructive reflection on the human-technology relationship, identifying associated risks and how to establish ethically responsible and sustainable development.

  • Simone Arcagni, a professor and expert in digital culture, will introduce the topic by discussing the symbiotic relationship between humans and machines, offering a fresh perspective to change the way we approach new technologies
  • Nicoletta Boldrini, a futurist with a technological and humanistic soul, will explore the idea of anthropocentric AI, highlighting criticalities and future risks in increasingly delegating mental dynamics to imperfect systems
  • Diletta Huyskes, a researcher and expert in the social impact of new technologies, will analyze the sociopolitical impact of AI. In doing so, she will focus on gender discriminations to illustrate how to promote technological development that respects fundamental rights.
