Technology and creativity: make the most of them for double acceleration

Centro Svizzero Via Palestro, 2 - 20121 MILANO

In a world that changes at an accelerated speed, technology is increasingly central to personal and business life, but this must not lead to neglect the human component that absolutely must not be forgotten.

The risk is to rely blindly on data, AI and increasingly mechanized and automated processes, stifling creativity and, in general, personal initiative. The human contribution remains important whenever creativity, the ability to read the context or a wider knowledge of the world, of society or simply the ability to look with new eyes at what already exists.

Technology and the human dimension must therefore go hand in hand, being both essential in creating a working environment that is innovative, stimulating and in step with the times.

During this meeting, we will try to understand how new technologies can be used, responding to technological changes and digitization, without the human component being crushed, but rather favoring it and making it a key element to focus on.

In particular, the following:

  • Alberto Mattiello, Head of Future Thinking Project by Wunderman Thompson and writer, will talk about the concepts contained in his book Doppia Accelerazione. The development of technologies and the pandemic have had indisputable effects on society, leading to important changes in the world of services, companies and organizations. The role that people have taken, with their creativity and their attitude towards innovation, is more than ever central to a huge boost to digital culture.
  • Chiara Giovenzana, thanks to her great corporate and institutional experience in the field of technology transfer, innovation and sustainability, will explain how innovative solutions, those that respond to a new need widely present within the community, are the result of the strategic exercise of creativity.
  • Maura Gancitano, philosopher and writer, will explain how it is generally believed that being creative means never stopping, being informed about everything that happens and fill every moment available to commitments or new stimuli. On the contrary, often to have good ideas it is necessary to make room and make unusual and counter-intuitive paths, without being afraid to lose time, go too slow and not be enough "performing". Learning to change paths and trying to get lost consciously can now be a great instrument of innovation, especially in the digital field.
